Sergeant Alvin C. York State Historic Park 6/30/16
The Sergeant Alvin C. York State Historic Park is a beautiful tribute to a great hero!
The Sergeant Alvin C. York State Historic Park is a wonderful state park that pays tribute to one of the most decorated soldiers of World War I.
What made our trip even more enjoyable was that we visited on a day when the Tennessee State Parks Great War Living History Team gave us a first-hand look at what it was like for soldiers stuck in the trenches during World War I. The team built the trench themselves and were very knowledgeable about the war and passionate about this educational project. They provided us with a wealth of information, as well as demonstrations of gas attacks, snipers, and talking with us about the soldiers and the many challenges they faced. I hope it’s something that everyone will get to see and experience.
